Yono Clone Apps: How to Tell a Real Download Page From a Copy
Short answer: a clone app copies the name, icon and look of a known app so that people install it by mistake. Among Yono-branded apps it is easy to do, because the name is not owned by any single publisher and many apps are distributed as APK files. Compare the domain, the package name and the publisher before installing anything.
18+ only. All Yono Official is an independent directory and is not the official website of any app. Online money games are prohibited in India under the Online Gaming Act, 2025. Read our legal guide and Responsible Gaming page.
How Yono Clones Usually Work
- Look-alike domains: one extra letter or number, or a different ending such as .vip or .cc.
- Copied pages: the same screenshots and text as the real listing, with a different download file.
- Forwarded links: shared in Telegram or WhatsApp groups with urgent "new link" messages.
- Fake support: clones often come with "agents" who ask for OTPs or unlock fees.
Signs a Download Page Is a Copy
| Check | Warning sign |
|---|---|
| Domain | Different from the app's current listing, or reached through a forwarded link |
| File name | Named after a different brand than the app you wanted |
| Package name | Does not match the one you expected (Settings → Apps → App details) |
| Publisher | No company named anywhere on the page |
| Requests | Asks for an OTP, UPI PIN, or a fee before you can play or withdraw |
Same-name confusion is not always a clone: several genuinely different apps share names such as Yono Arcade. That is why the package name matters more than the name on the page.
What to Do Instead
- Use the app's current listing rather than a forwarded link. Our link-checking guide explains how.
- Keep Play Protect on and read Android's warnings.
- Report fraud on 1930 or at cybercrime.gov.in.
